Top 4 Neutral Lip Glosses - NARS

Before I get started, let me just apologize for not having been on here earlier. In the summer I can sleep until 2pm and be refreshed, but I'm not using summer as an excuse not to write blog entries. My alarm clock broke (yes, I know, I am a klutz. I was moving my bed and it bent the plug-in part of the cord so now it's all deformed and won't work. Plus it took off the entire outlet cover.) So I am officially DONE with moving furniture myself :S

On a lighter note, I picked out 5 of my lipglosses that I thought were the nudest ones I have from NARS.
Nars Lip Gloss Turkish Delight 28 Oz

1 - TURKISH DELIGHT.

Lip Gloss Striptease One Size

2 - STRIPTEASE

3. SUPERVIXEN

Nars 12026802602 Lip Gloss Sweet Revenge 8G-0.28Oz

4. SWEET REVENGE

Comment below and tell me what your Top 4 nude glosses/glasses/lipsticks are :p

Seventeen Magazine August 2011 - Emma Watson

I'm back, sorry for that. Summer has just gotten me caught up in all the fun and I totally forgot about my blog! So I picked up the newest issue of Seventeen a couple days ago, and it is chock full of must read articles. Since summer is wrapping up and fall is just a couple months away, jeans are back into wearing after the unbearable heat. So let's get started with the contents!

- Back to School Shopping -

I found this section interesting because of the vintage-y look that the pieces had. I really like the blue sweater from Tilly's, too :T On the next page, you will find different outfits that used all of these items, though I found none of them cute (maybe it's just me?). You can also go to seventeen.com/fashionhaul to check out other cool looks.

- Stressed Out Skin Cleanup -

Ever felt so stressed out, your skin showed it? Stress pimples are easy to get rid of, but only if you know how to do it the correct way. This section will show you how to do just that. If you don't have much time to spend on your makeup, then try going for: Kate Somerville Clinic-to-Go Resurfacing Peel Pads ($48 for pack of 16, Sephora stores), Clearasil Ultra Acne + Marks Spot Lotion ($9, drugstores), or Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System ($30, drugstores). There are also tips for a better complexion at the bottom.

- Runway & 17 Way -

High-end looks don't have to be out of reach! Seventeen has inspired looks from the runway, that you can strut down the hallway in. Runways included are Burberry Prorsum, Proenza Schouler, DKNY, Isabel Marant, D&G, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Chanel. Some of the clothes here are ultra cute for school, but some just are like...bam.

- First Week Glam -

I like how these looks aren't too "showy" for school, but are still appropriate for daytime. I definitely want to try the look for Friday, which includes olive liquid eyeliner just a little above your crease. It looks super chic yet not too bold. I also love the frosty lips look for Saturday. I definitely will be trying these looks. *Comment below on which is your favorite/what you want to try :)

- Emma Watson Interview -

Harry Potter may be over (I didn't see it!) but Emma has her whole life ahead of her. Designing a little clothing collection for Alberta Ferretti, having a great skill in decorating, being on the set of Harry Potter since she was 10. She is the new face of Lancome as well. I liked her outfits in the pictures because it looks like she's not trying so hard to look all sexy like some other celebrities do. She looks very conservative. I didn't know that we thought one in the same about having your heart broken. I thought that I'd never find a guy like him ever again, and she thinks so too. I really liked the interview and look forward to seeing her on the cover again someday!

Where did I buy it? Borders, $2.99

It's Bikini Season! + Mini elf Haul

Hey girlies!

It is supposed to be in the 110's in my state, and may get to 120 in some areas (oh, how I wish I could be up north somewhere) so yes, it is officially bikini season in my state! But you don't want just a boring average bikini, do you? I went on the hunt on Forever 21 and picked out the 3 cutest bikinis I could find and shared them with you!

Forever 21

So I definitely will be going to Forever 21 this weekend and will try to find these in the store (or at least one of them...haha). In my own opinion, the last one is my absolute favorite. I love how the cutouts on the sides really embrace curves. What do you think?

elf Haul

I recently went through my makeup this week and ended up throwing out some items, but I didn't notice that they were mostly e.l.f. brand stuff. I love this brand because not only are the items cheap, but they work great for the price. You'd think that a $3 tube of mascara wouldn't work as well as one from, say, MAC. But their items really do work! I went on the website and did a little makeup shopping because I ended up throwing out like half of my makeup. Here are my purchases.

**If you think I am bragging in any way, shape, or form, I am not trying to. I am just showing to my followers what I bought with my own money which I worked hard for. All you have to do is click on the little X at the top of the screen. No need for drama :)

Alright, let's get started:

Lengthening & Defining Mascara, $3

Smudge Eye Brush

Smudging Brush, $1

face protection, anti-aging makeup, skin care, moisturizer

SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer, $1

Complete Coverage Concealer, $3

Total Spent: $8!

As you can plainly see from the total, e.l.f. is definitely the brand for people who are just starting out with makeup, as their cosmetics are affordable and work awesome. Have you guys had any experience with e.l.f. cosmetics that you'd like to rave about? Comment about it! I love hearing your guys' insight :)

xoxo,

Katie

REVIEW - NYC Show Time Volumizing Mascara

NYC New York Color Show Time Volumizing Waterproof Mascara

This mascara was a huge letdown. I now know never to buy $3 mascara from NYC makeup brand. What could have been a cheap and properly functioning mascara turned out to be a clumpy mess. I really like the idea of cheap mascara, but I want the price to be cheap, not the actual item itself, and that was the case for this mascara. It looked really promising and I really was excited to try it out.

I bought mine in Extreme Black like I always buy my mascaras in (or just Black). As soon as I took the wand out of the tube, it seemed clumpy and it seemed like there was too much mascara on it. It's supposed to make your lashes curlier, and it did, but I had to use an eyelash curler because I experimented with it on the other eye without using it, and it looked like a wreck.

Pros:

  • Lengthens your eyelashes
  • Cheap ($3)
  • Curls your eyelashes
  • Waterproof

Cons:

  • Does not look like you have mascara on when you do
  • There is a little too much mascara on the wand
  • The smell (or is it just me?)
  • Have to use eyelash curler to get them volumized
  • Makes my lashes look dry and broken
I do suggest skip this mascara when hauling, just as a warning. It may work for you, but it kind of wrecked my lashes in a way that I will never use it again. I am going back to my lovely Maybelline One by One Volum' Express mascara <3 LOVE

I Shall Call Him Squishy

...And he will be my Squishy :T

Get the Top Knot! - How To

What I think is funny is that you'd think I'd know how to do this, but I honestly don't. But I am not alone! There are plenty of other people out there wanting to know how to rock this gorgeous look, and I'm about to teach all those people (including myself) how to do the topknot like in the pictures above.

- Items Needed:

Hairspray
Ponytail elastic
Bobbi pins

- How To:

Turn your head upside down and flip all of your hair over your face and toward the floor. Sweep your hair up onto the top of your head and fasten it into a ponytail. Don't try making it neat because the added texture makes it easier to work with. Sweep through your hair with your fingers and coil the hair around the area you want it to sit at.

Once it is where you prefer, take a few bobbi pins and place them securely underneath the hair to make sure it stays in place. *For a tighter hold, tie off with a long non-slip Scunci hair elastic so fine hairs stay in place and there are no fallout loose ends. Spritz a light-hold hairspray into the air and let it fall into your hair so you don't come out with a helmet head of hairspray.

If you choose to spray your hair directly and it is all hard and whatnot, lightly run your fingers through your hair without messing it up to soften up the look.

So there's the look! You can also pull out random short pieces of hair from the side of your head like Vanessa Hudgens did and curl them for an ultra glamourous and chic look.

:T Hope you likeee :D

Interesting Forever 21 Cosmetics...

A friend told me about how she just loves her Forever 21 makeup, and so I went on the website (here) and checked out some of the beauty products. Now, there are some interesting things I would adore trying out this summer, and possibly this next fall and winter, but enough with my blabbering! Let the pictures do the talking.

Strawberry Yogurt Mask, $1.80

Leopard Cheek Color, $4.80

5 Piece Makeup Brush Set, $5.80

Also, I'm gonna wait until these items are on the clearance racks. They are absolutely gorgeous but if I can find them on sale racks here, I'm not gonna want to pay full price. So, I'll have to endure the pain of watching people snatch them up, but then again, I know they'll be much cheaper in a few months.

Katie <3
$19.80

$7.80
(I know, already cheap but why not?)

So does anyone have anything to say about Forever 21 cosmetics?
Love to hear your comments :)

Bellybutton Piercing? :|

So I'm thinking of getting a bellybutton piercing like the one above. It's totally gorgeous, but I don't know for sure. Because I've read all of the things you need to know before getting a piercing, I'm sure everything will go as planned, but I'm kinda nervous! What if it gets infected and I have to have surgery? Does it hurt A LOT? How much does it cost? I've done some research and found this information:

  • Equipment MUST be sterilized properly.
  • You have to find an experienced and liscensed piercer.
  • Can take up to a year to heal proplerly.
  • Can get infected.
  • Suitable for people of all ages.
  • Pain level on scale of 1 to 10, 1 being none at all: 5.
So I think I'm sure, but then I'm not. Any advice/tips?
